Karen Taylor's much anticipated text on forensic art happily lives up to the highest expectations. Karen is preeminent in the field and one of the few people practicing today who has professional experience in ALL aspects of forensic art including composite illustration, postmortem restoration, photographic superimposition, age progression, two and three dimensional facial approximation and courtroom testimony. The production design of the book is excellent, the text clearly written and easy on the eyes, the illustrations, not surprisingly, superb and the references exhaustive. Chapters 11 and 13, co-authored with Betty Pat. Gatliff (the "Grand Dame" of forensic facial reconstruction), will be especially appreciated by the students of these two distinguished international teachers -- which includes most of us! A detailed chapter by chapter analysis is not necessary since all are excellent. Karen has done a great service for all practicing and potential forensic artists. This book is now the definitive reference work (the "Bible") for the field.
