Product Description
Now Briggs begins an extraordinary new series set in Mercy Thompson?s world?but with rules of its own.

INTRODUCING THE ALPHA AND OMEGA NOVELS...

Anna never knew werewolves existed until the night she survived a violent attack?and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she?d learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. But Anna is that rarest kind of werewolf: an Omega. And one of the most powerful werewolves in the country will recognize her value as a pack member?and as his mate.

2 out of 5 stars Cry Reader   August 28, 2008
This book reminded me a Danille Steel novel with a dash of fantasy thrown in it. The victimized "Omega" was difficult to relate to or understand. She doesn't really shine till the end of the book when it's really too late to do so. The "Beowolf" tale should have been explored, it would have made the novel a richer story.
I have loved Patrica Briggs other novels, lets hope "Cry Wolf" was just a bump in the road.

5 out of 5 stars Cry Wolf   August 26, 2008
I loved this because the characters are so real...flawed but working on it. And so far, all of Patricia Briggs' books have been great.

5 out of 5 stars The Same But Different   August 26, 2008
I have been looking for a new author to read as I'm getting a bit done with Laurell K Hamilton. This is the first book I've read by this author and I know nothing about her.

I really enjoyed this version of a werewolf story. I found many of the concepts the same as other wolf stories I've read but the world it's set in is different in interesting ways.

It was interesting in how it presented the old topic of "what is truly good and what is truly evil?" I enjoyed the varying degrees of grey in this area that the book presented.

I got the novel yesterday and sat down after work with it. I finished it two hours past my bedtime. Its rare that I read a book in one sitting like that but the story held my attention. I couldn't wait to find out what happens next and I enjoyed some surprises at the end.

I'm re-reading it today on my lunch. I checked out this book based upon the reviews here and I'm so glad that I did. I might just have a new series to collect! Is there a book #2??

4 out of 5 stars There is NO Cover Art!   August 25, 2008
Briggs tells a great tale as usual. I love Mercy and this is a nice addition to her universe.
But what I DON'T Like is that in the Kindle edition there is NO COVER ART. For that I would buy the paperback and skip the Kindle.

3 out of 5 stars I feel like i intruded on someone else's story   August 24, 2008
I started reading Patricia Brigg's book Moon Called. I am perfectly at home in the wonderful world she has created, it is rich and delightful. I picked this book up under the same impression thinking that since it shared some of the same characters the quality would be equal.

I was hardly able to get through the first 2 chapters; not because anything was wrong with the writing, but because I was absolutely 100% lost. I stopped about 20 times to re-read the intro, look for mention of a book that preceded this, assumed I had book 2 of some series or that there was a horrible mistake at the printers and left out about 10 chapters. Half way through the book and you still have no idea what is going on. I felt like an intruder on a story I had no business being it.

There is no mention in the book that you **HAVE** to read "On the prowl" first. No, really -- you do, because nothing makes sense in the book otherwise. I was pretty pissed off by the end of the book only to find out there was some prequal story that isn't mentioned ANYWHERE else on the book.
