Product Description A true crime story as riveting and exciting as Blow or Catch Me If You Can.
Craig Glazer's story began in 1971 in a student apartment where, as a freshman at Arizona State University, he got ripped off trying to buy marijuana. Fueled by fantasies drawn from movies of the era like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, in which the hero was just on the edge of the law, Glazer decided to strike back at the dealers. With his partner, the streetwise Vietnam veteran Don Woodbeck, he orchestrated his first "sting," posing as local law enforcement. He walked away from that first sting with $50,000 and a high he couldn't get from any drug. So began Glazer's career as the King of Sting.
From Boston to Phoenix, Kansas City to Las Vegas, Glazer, Woodbeck, and their crew set up cons and raked in a fortune in cash and drugs, eventually becoming so successful that Glazer was hired as an undercover cop by the Kansas State Attorney General's office to help capture some of the most notorious criminals in the Midwest. The outlaw lifestyle began to take its toll, and one by one, the crew members got out while they still could. Glazer and Woodbeck headed to Hollywood, where they hooked up with an agent and tried to sell their remarkable story. But even with the glitz of Hollywood and the promise of a movie deal, they still weren't willing to give up the game. Woodbeck tried one last sting, a set-up that went horribly wrong and left him dead. Despite the danger, Glazer then attempted the ultimate sting in Los Angeles, all on his quest to become famous, even if meant becoming infamous.

I want to see the movie version of this story! December 15, 2008 I am an avid reader of true crime and I have to say that the King of Sting is one of the best I have ever read! It was throughly entertaining and I hated it to come to an end. I would LOVE to see this story on film! I truly hope someone in Hollywood will get ahold of this book and realize that Craig Glazer's true story is worth telling on screen. I believe that many of the readers will agree with me. What an amazing story!!!!
The King of Sting: The Amazing True Story of a Modern American Outlaw November 24, 2008 Craig Glazer has led an outrageous life to date and this book held me captive throughout the entire read. Anyone interested in a cops and robbers theme will love this book. Psychologists will too!

I loved this book. Action packed. Craig Glazer is very likeable and a great character. Well written and as the author knows, would make a great movie.
I Cannot Believe that this is NOT a movie! November 2, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I picked up this book in part because I recognized Glazer from my hometown of KC. That said, the life he has lead is beyond anything I could dream up. You simply cannot make these tails up, and unfortunately, he has the tragedies to show they are real. This is a great tale, from con to lawman to everything in between, the line between right and wrong blurs quickly. It's hard to believe that this hasn't become film yet because it is compelling stuff.

Raw and gutsy; I would not recommend living this lifestyle (LOL), but one could see how the events and associates in Glazer's life somehow got him to that point. A real adventure of a true "adrenaline junkie" - the pages fly by quickly. Makes one wonder after all the people who were "crossed" why one would want to make it all public (refer back to the words "adrenaline junkie").
Cheers All !!
